If Clinton or Obama was elected, what could we Americans do to make sure amnesty is not passed?

Saturday August30, 2008 3:03 am

sure
Smellies asked:

I know both are for it and I however am not. Is there anything the american people can do to make sure it does not happen.

Vote more carefully for your congressman. It won’t pass if they don’t want it to.

You can protest, you can petition your representatives in Congress, and you can speak out. This is your right and responsibility as an American citizen.

Not a thing unless you can find someone with status, say like a movie star or city, state or gov. official. Someone that could be the voice of your beliefs. Just like I support Tommy Chong and Normal in their fight and beliefs.

Not only they are for it but also McCain.

There will be no stopping it. They will declare the issue decided with the Presidential election and there will be amnesty for illegal aliens (the congress will push it through).

People that opposed this should have backed Romney long ago. If he is done this issue is done…it is that simple.

I do not know of anything you could do. And we need a way to get what we want.

We need, and very badly, a national ballot iniative that would enable us to bring such law into the Constitution.

The primary primary is tomorrow. Make very sure you get to the town hall meetings and ask that they appose amnesty.

Most of the Republicans, including this President support a plan that includes some amnesty, so the plan, no matter who is President will have an amnesty provision.

There is no way to deport 14 million people.

The amnesty plans of both Clinton and Obama include paying fines for being illegal and thern learning Elnglish before being allowed to try for eventual citizenship.

      Sounds reasonable to me.

Those opposed or supportive of anything in our government must voice their opinions to their representatives on the state and federal level. Email and call your senators and congressman, organize peaceful rallies, send out petitions, inform everyone around you, and above all else, stay informed with what is going on. If there is a bill that is getting passed dealing with immigration/amnesty, make sure you and everyone else who supports your views are aware of it.

We live in a country where most people only get involved with our political process at election time. Once the representatives are elected, they don’t pay attention until the next November. The more awareness you can draw to a bill and the louder your voice as a united people, the more you can get done. A government, for the people, BY the people. Your representative has a lot of pressure to vote the constituents’ way (if shown as a strong majority), because if they don’t, then that majority will not re-elect them the next term.

Ultimately, it falls to Congress. Lobby your Senator and Congressmen, whether they’re a “D” or an “R” and tell them you DON’T WANT IT.

Amnesty is the equivalent of putting up a fence AFTER the foxes are already IN the henhouse.

Secure borders are VITAL if we’re serious about national security. Those saying we “can’t” deport them…what are you gonna do about the illegals who choose NOT to register? Say there are too many of them to deport also?
